IN OAXACA CITY

In 1987 UNESCO included the city of Oaxaca and the nearby prehispanic center of Monte Albán in its list of World Heritage Sites (http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/415). This honor merely shows the enormous cultural richness that one can find in Oaxaca, where 5 languages families (including 43 to 157 languages) are spoken by different ethnic groups, such as the Cuicatecos, Chinantecos, Mixes, Mixtecos, Zapotecos, and Zoques.

Once you are in Oaxaca, why not taking advantage of the numerous activities that are offered, including walks within the city to enjoy the colonial buildings and museums, visits to several nearby prehispanic centers, or taste the unique traditional and “new cuisine” dishes that the State has to offer. Appreciate how various and colorful handcrafts are hand made, or enjoy outdoor activities, including hiking, diving, surfing and more
