Foreign bryologists have published contributions, mainly on floristics and taxonomy of Mexican bryophytes, since many years ago. References to their publications were compiled in a regional bibliography by Delgadillo in 1969; the latter was updated by Delgadillo and Equihua in 1990 where they evaluated progress and made reference to significant contributions. Citation to papers produced by an incipient group of Mexican bryologists has been added to those of foreign manufacture, but there has been no new compilation to evaluate progress on the subject.
The bibliography on Mexican bryophytes is presented here in two ACCESS tables. The first lists references up to 1990 without any comment; these are available from the book by Delgadillo and Equihua listed there. The second incorporates mainly the more recent publications, but the field ‘Observations’ describes the findings for Mexico.
